Our Maui Surf Lesson in Kihei is designed for complete beginners, families, and anyone who’s ever dreamed of riding their first wave in Hawaii.
Each of our lessons is about 2 hours long and is kept small with a maximum of 6 students, so you’ll always get the personal attention you need to build confidence and learn quickly. You’ll discover the fundamentals of surfing, including wave riding techniques, water safety, ocean awareness, and surf etiquette. And here’s our promise: you’ll be surfing by the end of your first lesson. Ages 9+ are welcome in our group lessons. Ages 5+ can join a private surf lesson designed for them.

Our family had an amazing time at Kalama park in Kihei with Learn to Surf Maui! The instructors were fantastic with our young kids, making sure they felt safe and comfortable in the water. They broke down the surfing basics in a way that was easy for the kids to understand and had them standing up on their boards in no time.

Seeing the smiles on our children’s faces as they rode their first waves was priceless. We can recommend Maui surf lesson enough for families looking for a fun and memorable activity on the beautiful shores of Maui!
