Located right in the heart of Kihei, Kalama Park offers smooth, protected waters and panoramic views of Molokini Crater, West Maui Mountains, and Haleakalā. It’s one of the most beautiful and beginner-friendly places to learn SUP on the island.
Our Kalama stand up paddleboard is very convenient in Kihei, and we’ll take a paddle down the coastline and enjoy the Kihei scenery and watch some surfers, and see some of the Kihei beach front “cottages” and Mansions side by side
Kalama Park
Kalama Park is Maui’s go-to spot for calm morning waters, gentle shore breaks, and soft sandy bottoms, ideal for first-timers. Here, your paddleboard lesson begins on the beach, where our friendly local instructors share easy-to-follow tips on balance, paddling, and ocean safety.
Within minutes, you’ll be standing tall on your board, smiling as you glide over the clear turquoise water, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot a Hawaiian green sea turtle swimming below you.
When you paddle with us, you’re learning from local ocean guides who know these waters like home. Our focus is always on safety, fun, and connection both to the ocean and to the island’s spirit.
